FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used to determine the location of ground-based sources of radio emission (RES). The inventive method consists in the fact that on board the direction finder aircraft, using a standard navigation and aerobatic complex, its own rectangular coordinates of the location and the heading angle are simultaneously measured, and with the help of a radio direction finder, the signal-to-noise ratio and bearing of the RES relative to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft, from which are directly calculated taking into account the heading angle, the cosine and sine of the bearing of the RES relative to the abscissa axis of the cartographic coordinate system, respectively. Of all the values, two bearings are selected, the angle of intersection of which is closest to the straight line. The point of intersection of these bearings is taken as the initial approximation of the estimate of the coordinates of the RES. Then, by the method of successive approximations using Newton's iterative procedure, an estimate of the coordinates of the RES is found, corresponding to the minimum modulus of the logarithm of the likelihood functional.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of determining the coordinates of the target and reducing the computational costs when implementing the method for determining the coordinates of the RES.
