FIELD: car safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elastic molded sheathing as a part of a composite structure for covering an airbag and to its production method, to laminate containing a rigid carrier, and to a composition for the production of such a sheathing using pouring molding. Sheathing includes at least one sheet of plasticized thermoplastic vinyl polymer material containing particles of an agent contributing to the rupture, dispersed in it, while particles of the agent contributing to the rupture have a melting temperature higher than a melting temperature of vinyl polymer material. The sheet of plasticized thermoplastic vinyl polymer material contains at least from 0.1 to no more than 7.5 wt.% of the agent contributing to the rupture, so that the sheet of plasticized thermoplastic vinyl polymer material has an elongation at rupture from 200.0 to 400.0% at a room temperature, defined in accordance with ISO 527 standard, part 1 and 2, test 5A, and a rupture force of a cut sample of no more than 25 N/mm, defined in accordance with ISO 34-1 standard, method A.
EFFECT: providing elastic sheathing for covering the airbag that allows for quick opening the passenger’s airbag with the minimal risk of the formation of particles projected towards the passenger and with the minimal risk of the visibility of the airbag attenuation line even when aging, in the temperature range from -35 to 80°C.
