FIELD: coatings.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a metal substrate with a corrosion-protective coating, a method for manufacture thereof, and a unit for continuous vacuum deposition of the described coating on a moving metal substrate, and can be used for manufacturing components of an automobile vehicle. The described substrate comprises at least a first layer consisting of aluminium, with a thickness of 2 to 4 mcm, coated directly with a second layer containing 0.5 to 5.9 wt.% magnesium and zinc the rest. The method for manufacturing a metal substrate with said corrosion-protective coating applied by continuous vacuum deposition includes preparation of a metal substrate, optionally a stage of preparing the surface of the metal substrate, vacuum deposition of a first layer consisting of aluminium with a thickness of 2 to 4 mcm, and vacuum deposition of a second layer containing 0.5 to 5.9 wt.% magnesium and zinc the rest. The unit for continuous vacuum deposition of a corrosion-protective coating on a moving metal substrate comprises sections in the following order: optionally an intermediate section containing a magnetron sputtering apparatus for depositing an intermediate layer including iron, nickel, chromium and optionally titanium, a first section containing an apparatus for evaporation with an electron beam for depositing a first layer of aluminium, a second section containing a jet evaporation apparatus for depositing a second layer containing 0.5 to 5.9 wt.% Mg and Zn the rest.
EFFECT: creation of a coated metal substrate with enhanced protection against corrosion, i.e., cathodic protection in addition to barrier protection, not causing liquid metal embrittlement (LME), is ensured.
