FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for continuous vacuum application of coatings on a moving substrate, wherein coatings are formed from metal alloys containing a base element and at least one additional element, and to methods of applying said coating. Device comprises a vacuum application chamber, a substrate passage means through said chamber, a steam jet coating application device, an evaporation crucible configured to supply steam into the steam jet device, comprising a main element and at least one additional element supplying the furnace, made with possibility of supply to the evaporating crucible of the main element in the melted state, and a feed assembly configured to feed at least one additional element in the solid state and configured to feed at least one additional element in the molten state to the evaporation crucible, solid or partially solid. In one version of the coating application method, a metal alloy of the main element is fed into the bath in a molten state and heating of at least one additional element in the solid state above the bath of the metal alloy and feeding to metal alloy bath at least one additional element in molten state, in solid state or in partially solid state. Coating methods include evaporation of metal alloy bath containing main element and at least one additional element, spraying of steam containing said elements onto substrate and continuous application of metal alloy layer containing said elements onto substrate.
EFFECT: providing vacuum coating of metal alloy, which provides flexibility in control of changes in composition of metal alloy without risk of loss of productivity.
