FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elevator mechanics, namely, to apparatuses for ensuring safe operation of elevators. The apparatus comprises a catcher with a movable part in the form of two self-locking elements and two rods connected each with its own self-locking element. In the normal state, i.e. when the speed limiter (SL) cable is intact and tensioned, the rods (3, 4) are tightened together due to the tension of the SL cable. The entire safety system therein operates in the classic variant, i.e. when the speed limiter is triggered, the SL cable pulls both rods (3, 4), and one of the self-locking elements is triggered, depending on the direction of movement of the cabin. If the cable is broken or weakened, the rods (3, 4) are separated in different directions by means of the springs - the upper rod (3) upward, and the lower rod (4) downward, respectively, each carrying its own self-locking element (2). The self-locking elements, in turn, prevent the movement of the elevator cabin both upward and downward.
EFFECT: invention increases the reliability of the entire safety system of the elevator as a whole.
