FIELD: testing.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for corrosion monitoring is intended for transmitting information on the current protective potential either via the core of a power cable between the protected structure and the cathodic/drainage protection unit or via a steel pipeline insulated from the ground, if a measuring cable cannot possibly be laid from the protected structure to the cathodic/drainage protection unit and the use of a radio channel is undesirable due to the high level of radio interference reducing the range and quality of communication. The apparatus for corrosion monitoring comprises a transmitter module and a receiver module, coupled by a power cable or the body of the insulated steel pipeline. The transmitter module includes a microcontroller processing the measured analogue signal, while executing digital filtering, and forming an interference-resistant frequency-coded signal for transmission via a power cable or a pipeline, a measuring amplifier, an inverter amplifier, a high-pass filter, and a power supply unit. The power supply unit uses the difference in potentials between the current-conducting core of a power cable or an insulated pipeline and a grounding contour as an energy source. The receiver module includes a high-pass filter, a normalising amplifier, an output amplifier, a microcontroller decoding and representing the signal in analogue and digital form, and a power supply.
