SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical protection and corrosion monitoring of steel structures, including underground, and can be used for industrial use as a source of protective current in systems of electrochemical protection, integrated with a subsystem of corrosion monitoring of protected objects. Device includes an electric power metering unit and automatic switching on of a reserve in case of power failure on one of the power supply lines, a unit of automatic switches, switching devices, main and standby converters of cathodic protection, emergency transfer unit, storage battery unit, unit of surge protection devices on all incoming and outgoing power circuits, control lines and communication lines, at that, as part of the main converter of cathodic protection there is a monitoring and control module with support of corrosion monitoring functions, as part of the backup cathodic protection converter there is a backup monitoring and control module with support of corrosion monitoring functions, at that, in the device there is an active interface splitter, which provides the possibility of connection to the main and backup converter control modules of up to 96 points of corrosion monitoring of the protected object along 10 physical communication lines, as well as in the main and standby converter there are converter modules containing removable surge protection devices on input and output power circuits, wherein the main and standby converters are separated by a contactor in output power circuits controlled by the standby switching unit and providing switching of output power circuits of the main and standby converters.

EFFECT: increased stability of operation in conditions of complex electromagnetic environment, provision of reliability of operation as part of corrosion monitoring subsystem and increased level of repairability of converter modules.
