SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to methods for producing isobutylene. A method for the production of high-purity isobutylene containing the supply of a mixed feed stream C4 containing isobutylene, isobutane and 1-butene, and optionally containing one or more of butadiene, 2-butene or n-butane, into a catalytic distillation column containing a butene isomerization catalyst; simultaneous isomerization of 1-butene into 2-butene and separation of 2-butene from isobutane and isobutylene in a catalytic distillation column; extraction and condensation of product streams and their separation . A system for the production of isobutylene is described.
EFFECT: production of high-purity isobutylene.
