FIELD: chemical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to variants of a method for joint production of isobutylene and high-purity methanol and to a system for producing isobutylene. One of the variants of the method for joint production of isobutylene and high-purity methanol includes the following stages: a. separating the supply stream containing crude methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) in a first fractionation system to extract a product stream containing at least 94 wt.% MTBE and extract a heavy product stream; b. contacting the MTBE product flow with a catalyst to produce an output stream containing isobutylene and methanol; c. contacting the output stream containing isobutylene and methanol with one or more extractants to produce an extractant/methanol stream and a mixed isobutylene stream; d. supplying the mixed isobutylene stream into a second fractionation system to extract a stream containing at least 95 wt.% isobutylene and containing less than 100 wt.pts. per million normal C4 hydrocarbons and less than 30 wt.pts. per million C5 hydrocarbons and removing the stream containing MTBE/isobutylene; e. supplying the extractant/methanol stream to a third fractionation system to extract a light fraction, a methanol product stream containing at least 95 wt.% methanol, and a heavy fraction containing an extractant; f. recycling MTBE/isobutylene into the first fractionation system.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions allows for a high-purity methanol stream together with the target isobutylene product.
