FIELD: welding technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to arc welding of coated electrodes. The sum of the content of metal carbonate in the coating with a grain diameter of 75 microns or more in terms of CO2 (CCO2, 75 microns) and the content of metal fluoride with a grain diameter of 75 microns or more in terms of F (CF, 75 microns) relative to the total mass of the coating (Stot. coat.) is 6.0, wt. %, or more. The specified content of carbonate and metal fluoride is selected from the condition for obtaining a coating after welding at the far end of the electrode, the shape of which satisfies the ratio D2/D1, ranging from 0 to 0.4, where D1 is the distance in the longitudinal direction of the electrode between the end of the electrode rod after welding and the furthest end of the coating remaining around the rod after welding, and D2 is the distance in the longitudinal direction of the electrode between the ends of the coating remaining around the rod after welding.
EFFECT: electrode prevents unilateral melting and displacement of the arc and ensures uniform movement of the melt droplets.
