FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for manual arc welding and arc welding of inclined electrode structures of carbon and low-alloy steels, including for making welded joints in steel structures of railway rolling stock. Electrode consists of a steel low-carbon rod coated with a coating containing the following components, wt. %: marble 4.0–8.0, ferromanganese 8.0–11.0, rutile concentrate 15.0–21.0, kaolin 2.5–6.0, cellulose 1.5–2.5, feldspar 3.0–5.0, iron powder - balance. Coefficient of weight of coating is 90–160 %, and ratio of diameter of electrode coating to diameter of rod is 1.7–2.3.

EFFECT: electrode has high ease of ignition and stability of arc burning, ensures production of well-formed finely flaking seams with smooth transition to base metal and their high mechanical properties, which meet requirements of GOST 33976-2016.
