FIELD: controlling.

SUBSTANCE: inventions can be used for monitoring tools (3) during processing of rotationally symmetrical parts, namely, in apparatuses for milling electrode caps for contact welding. A multiring antenna (1) and an RFID system for monitoring the milling tools (3) are installed so as to be capable of communicating with each other. The antenna (1) is placed on the tool support (2) so as to surround the rotationally symmetrical milling tool (3), whereto an RFID transponder (4) located in the electromagnetic annular field of the antenna (1) is attached. The RFID transponder (4) is quiried in each of the positions thereof by means of the multiring antenna (1) during movement of the milling tool and at rest. The milling tool is selected by means of electronic control.

EFFECT: inventions ensure monitoring and control of the currently used tool, as well as provision of information for statistical recording and evaluation of the data relevant to the process of processing.
