SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a capping apparatus for a barrel with a beverage, intended for storing, transporting, and dosing a beverage. The capping apparatus for a barrel with a beverage comprises a valve casing and a valve movable relative to the valve casing inward to the open position and outward to the closed position. The locking system comprises a locking element, movable relative to the valve casing and retaining the valve in the open position. The locking element comprises a body located inside the valve casing and a protrusion extending outward from the body to the outside of the casing. The protrusion comprises an engagement element configured to engage with the limiting element fixed relative to the valve casing in order to limit the maximum degree of movement of the locking element in the upward direction relative to the valve casing after dosing the beverage from the barrel.
