FIELD: sealing.

SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a sealing liner for a metal composite cylinder and liner for implementing the method are intended for breathing apparatuses of rescue teams and fire services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. In the method, bottoms (3) of the liner are formed by the hot rolling method from a pipe workpiece, and prior to heat treatment, a plug (5) with a hole (6) is installed in the neck (2) of the liner, wherein said hole is connected with the tube (7) for releasing the vapour and air mixture from the inner cavity of the liner. The liner is made seamless of a medium-alloy steel. The wall thickness of the cylindrical part is less than the wall thickness of the upper bottom with a neck and the lower blind bottom of the liner.

EFFECT: increase in the cyclic durability of the sealing liner for a metal composite cylinder.
