FIELD: shaping.

SUBSTANCE: metal composite cylinder for a breathing apparatus is intended for breathing apparatuses of rescue teams and fire services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The cylinder comprises a liner (1) and an external power composite shell (2) made from alternating annular and spiral layers (3, 4) of glass roving, wherein the spiral layers (4) are inclined at an angle of 41° to 46° to the longitudinal axis (5) of the cylinder according to the "semi-cocoon" scheme, overlapping the bottoms (6) of the liner (1) up to approximately 30 to 50 mm along the generatrix, wherein the ratio of the outer diameter of the liner (1) to the length thereof is approximately 0.25 to 0.5.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability of a metal composite cylinder for a breathing apparatus and increase in the operational life.
