FIELD: crushing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus intended for crushing glass of old windows, and to a method for crushing by means of said apparatus. The crushing apparatus comprises at least a conveyor provided with a conveyor belt configured to move a window flat in the direction of the longitudinal axis (L), a crushing unit configured to crush the glass of said window during movement thereof on said conveyor, and an apparatus for selective separation of the frame of said window located at a preset distance from the front end of the conveyor, wherein the selective separation apparatus may comprise at least one rotating cylinder intended to intake and drag the frame forward. The method for crushing window glass consists in using the above crushing apparatus, wherein the frame at the front end of the conveyor is moved at a speed less than or equal to the circumferential speed of rotation of at least one rotating cylinder.

EFFECT: apparatus and method increase the processability of the process of crushing old windows.
