FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing wear-resistant high-strength cast iron castings includes obtaining alloyed high-chromium cast iron in an induction furnace, holding melt for 20–40 minutes at temperature of 1,420–1,510 °C, treatment with alloying agents, melt tapping from furnace into ladle, casting from ladle into molds, cooling of castings in molds in natural conditions to room temperature and thermal treatment of cooled castings. Alloyed high-chromium cast iron melt is tapped from furnace into ladle at temperature of 1,410–1,480 °C. Cast iron is poured into molds at 1,360–1,440 °C. Heat treatment is carried out by heating cooled castings at rate of 70–110 °C/h to temperature of 1,050–1,150 °C, holding at this temperature for 100–180 min and forced cooling with air blowing to temperature of not more than 350 °C.
EFFECT: higher hardness and wear resistance of castings with preservation of their good machinability and reduction of power consumption for their production.
