SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method for measuring the wear of machine components. The device contains one or more processors for receiving several images related to a machine component; receiving a three-dimensional model of the machine component; creating an image point cloud based on several images; creating a model point cloud based on the three-dimensional model of the machine component; performing the first correlation of the image point cloud and the model point cloud to create primary correlated point clouds; performing the second correlation of primary correlated point clouds to create secondary correlated point clouds; creating three-dimensional mask sections based on secondary correlated point clouds; projecting three-dimensional mask sections onto several images; processing three-dimensional mask sections projected onto several images to determine reference points in several images and determine the degree of wear associated with the machine component based on reference points.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the wear of machine components.
