SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to a system and method for charging a traction battery of a vehicle with an electric drive by means of a column for charging. The traction battery is configured to be charged with charging voltages of at least two different values. After the electrically powered vehicle is connected to the charging dispenser, data is exchanged between the battery management system of the electrically powered vehicle and the charging dispenser to match the charging voltage. The maximum permissible total charging voltage is transmitted to the charging station via at least one Battery Handshake Message (BHM) via the battery management system. The transmitted maximum permissible total charging voltage is by a certain value less than the highest value of the charging voltage of the traction battery.

EFFECT: improved interaction between charging stations according to GB/T standard and vehicles with electric drive.
