FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of thick sheets from low-alloy mild steels on a reversing mill. Rolling of intermediate billets from a continuously cast billet is carried out, their cutting to measure and processing of the front surface, assembly of cut intermediate billets into a batch billet with its welding around the perimeter, evacuation of this packet billet, heating in a furnace and subsequent plastic deformation by multipass hot rolling. Intermediate blanks are rolled into two thicknesses. A batch billet for hot rolling is assembled from three intermediate billets - a thicker billet is used as the central intermediate billet, and thinner billets of the same thickness are used as the outer intermediate billets. After welding and evacuation, the resulting batch billet is heated to a temperature of 1175-1240°C at a rate not exceeding 75°C/hour, followed by holding for 8-11 hours and subjected to reversible rolling according to the longitudinal broaching scheme. The temperature of the end of rolling is set not lower than 750°C, followed by cooling in air.
EFFECT: strength of rolled products that have the required mechanical properties increases.
