A method for suppressing the vital activity of pathogenic microorganisms and viruses by electromagnetic radiation includes: determination of the radiation spectrum of pathogenic microorganisms or viruses and exposure to a biological object by pulsed electromagnetic radiation, the spectrum of which corresponds to a given radiation spectrum of pathogenic microorganisms or viruses, in the sub-terahertz and terahertz ranges with a pulse repetition frequency from 100 to 150 Hz, with variable polarization of electromagnetic waves.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the efficiency of the process of suppressing the vital activity of pathogenic microorganisms and viruses, which is achieved by the ability to quickly adjust the method to deactivate certain pathogenic microorganisms or viruses, as well as the possibility of providing therapeutic effects simultaneously against several people (animals, plants) in the same room/open space, effectiveness of exposure is also increased due to the use of electromagnetic radiation with variable polarization of electromagnetic waves.
