FIELD: measuring technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring technology and relates to a source of radiation in the far infrared range. The radiation source contains a heated element in the form of a plate as a radiating body. A molecular fullerite crystal with embedded clusters of iron ions is used as the material of the heated element. The heated element is placed in a constant magnetic field with a strength of 200-1000 A/m, directed perpendicular to the surface of the plate.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of generating circularly polarized radiation in the far IR range with selection of radiation with an upper cutoff frequency of the order of 1 THz and suppression of radiation in a higher frequency range.
