SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a system for automated determination of conveyor belt damages. Damage detection system comprises computing device connected to infrared camera receiving thermal images of non-working surface of conveyor belt. Computing device enables to obtain a sequence of frames of a thermal image from an infrared camera, obtaining data on maximum Tmax and base Tbas temperatures of the surface of the conveyor belt for the obtained frames of the thermal image. During processing of the obtained frames, the excess of the maximum temperature on the frame of the thermal image of the surface of the tape Tmax over the base temperature of the surface of the tape Tbas more than a given value of the temperature window Δtemp in given time window Δtim, determination of the presence of damage to the conveyor belt in the event that on the thermal image frames in a given time window Δtim excess Tmax over Tbas is recorded more than a given value of the temperature window Δtemp, generation of a signal for stopping the belt conveyor when determining the presence of damage to the conveyor belt.
EFFECT: enabling increase in the conveyor belt damage detection accuracy due to the belt surface thermal image frames analysis and processing.
