FIELD: mechanical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: system for scanning the state of a cable conveyor belt of a belt conveyor contains a magnet located across the conveyor belt and providing magnetization of the conveyor belt cables; a multi-channel scanner containing a group of magnetic field sensors (MFS) and providing scanning of the conveyor belt to obtain magnetograms displaying signals from the stray magnetic field (SMF) in the area of butt joints and cable damage; a computing unit that receives signals from the scanner. The resulting magnetograms are compared with the threshold value of the Pcable signal set for analysis of cables, and with the threshold value of the Pjoint signal for analysis of butt joints. Signals recorded by the MFS are cut off if the level less than the threshold value for cutting off the background Pbackground. The longitudinal and/or transverse coordinates of cable damage and/or the longitudinal coordinates of the location of butt joints are determined. Magnetogram processing data is transmitted to an external device.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of monitoring the condition of the conveyor belt.
