FIELD: metrology.

SUBSTANCE: method for automated determination of conveyor belt damage, carried out using a computing device connected to at least one vibration measuring device, and comprising steps of: a) obtaining vibration measurement data from at least one vibration measuring device arranged on elements of the belt conveyor structure or on elements connected to the belt conveyor; b) processing the measurements obtained at step a) by means of a computing device, during which they are compared with at least one reference value of the vibration parameter and/or with at least one reference vibration pattern, indicating the presence of damage to the conveyor belt; c) determining the presence of damage to the conveyor belt if at step b) the vibration measurements differ from at least one reference value of the vibration parameter and/or correspond to at least one vibration reference pattern, indicating the presence of damage to the conveyor belt; d) recording data on detected damages in computer memory and/or transmitting said data to an external device.

EFFECT: high accuracy of detecting damage to a conveyor belt by analyzing conveyor vibration data.
