SUBSTANCE: method for selecting strains of lactic acid bacteria, its application for inhibiting growth of pathogenic bacteria in an individual, biologically pure Lactobacillus reuteri DSM-27131 culture, frozen or lyophilized composition containing pure Lactobacillus reuteri DSM-27131 culture, biologically pure Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 32465 culture, frozen or lyophilized composition containing pure Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 32465 culture, and use of Lactobacillus reuteri bacteria utilizing ethanolamine for the treatment of a disease or disorder caused or associated with ethanolamine-utilizing pathogen are proposed. The method for selecting strains of lactic acid bacteria includes providing bacteria of the bacterium strain in a culture medium for growing the specified bacteria, determining the capability of bacteria of ethanolamine utilizing, and selecting them.
