FIELD: image processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an integrated circuit for estimating a depth map from an image using a combined bilateral filter. It is proposed to access image data of an image, as well as to depth data of a depth map on the basis of templates. Combined bilateral filter is applied to a depth map based on templates using image data as a range member in the combined bilateral filter, thereby obtaining a map adapted to the depth image as an output. Application of combined bilateral filter comprises initialisation of volumetric value of sum of weighted depths and volumetric value of sum of weight coefficients as corresponding empty data structures in memory device, performing a spraying operation in order to fill said volumetric values, performing a cutting operation in order to obtain a volumetric value adapted to the image depth, and performing an interpolation operation to obtain an image-adapted depth map for each pixel in the image.
EFFECT: providing depth map estimation from image, which is less computationally complex than approximation.
