FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Technical result consists in improvement of quality of perceived image. Device comprises an image unit which supplies an image with a corresponding depth map, a probability unit determining a probability map for the image, having probability values indicating the probability that the pixels belong to the text object of the image, depth unit creates a modified depth map, in which the determined depth values are determined in the form of weighted associations of input values and the value of the depth of the text object of the image corresponding to the preferred depth for the text. Weighing depends on probability of value for said pixels.
EFFECT: such approach provides a softer change of depth for text objects, which leads to reduction of artefacts and distortions, for example, when performing shift of views using depth maps.
