FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry, specifically to the process of regenerating an aqueous solution of ethylene glycol (monoethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol) (MEG) for use as a hydrate formation inhibitor in gas collection and treatment systems. In the method of regenerating an aqueous solution of ethylene glycol and purifying it from salts, initially saturated with low-soluble and soluble salts, residual hydrocarbons and products of chemical reactions, MEG is subjected to degassing, then the MEG aqueous solution is mixed with a reagent providing precipitation of insoluble salts from said MEG aqueous solution, then the MEG aqueous solution is sent for regeneration by rectification, after which the stream of regenerated MEG is divided into two parts, one of which is sent for storage, and the other part - for vacuum distillation. Crystallized soluble salts extracted from the regenerated MEG, with a part of the non-evaporated regenerated MEG are taken for centrifugation and recycling, and the regenerated MEG purified from salts vapours are condensed and in the form of liquid regenerated MEG are divided into two streams, one of which is sent as a hydrate formation inhibitor for complex gas treatment, and the other is directed at first for mixing with a stream of regenerated MEG obtained during rectification, and after mixing, for storage.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing higher efficiency of using ethylene glycol to prevent hydrate formation in systems for collecting and treating gas due to its regeneration and maximum purification from salts of different solubility and products of chemical reactions of ethylene glycol.
