FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of studying the quality of spraying of aqueous solutions and can be used in evaluating the operation of agricultural sprayers. Method for determining the size of drops includes spraying an unsaturated solution of a water-soluble salt over a water-repellent surface of the collector, collecting drops on the surface of the collector, drying to form salt crystals, subsequent reduction of drops from these salt crystals in an atmosphere of high humidity until the salt crystal is completely dissolved and measuring their dimensions using a microscope equipped with a photo nozzle, wherein the solution is sprayed over a chamber made in the form of a container, at the bottom of which there is a collector support, and in the upper part there is a cover with a hole, above which a movable gate is mounted, made in the form of a wedge-shaped hollow container, consisting of side walls, an upper plate with a hole in the central part and a lower plate installed with an inclination of at least 130°, as well as rear wall equipped with water drain hole, note here that bottom plate front part has through slot communicated with top plate hole. Besides, said gate is coupled with hydraulic drive.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of measuring drops.
