FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oilfield equipment, in particular to submersible gas separators intended for separation of gas from formation fluid, and can be used in production of oil with high values of gas factor. Centrifugal gas separator includes a housing, an inlet module, a shaft, a separating head with outlets for discharge of the separated gas into the annular space and a separation unit having an external cylindrical sleeve and a separation axial wheel fitted on the shaft. Separating head is made of a movable rotating part and fixed axial spiral channels connected to discharge holes for discharge of separated gas. Separation unit is additionally equipped with a separation chamber which is located below the head-separator and is surrounded by a sleeve. Shaft is divided into inlet and outlet sections located outside the separation chamber. Pressure unit consisting of a pressure member and a guide vane is installed on the inlet section of the shaft above the inlet module. Sleeve is connected at the bottom with the separation axial wheel, and at the top — with the rotating part of the head-separator, which ensures transmission of rotation from the input section of the shaft to the output section.

EFFECT: providing efficient separation of gas from formation fluid with constant separation factor in the whole range of supply.
