METHOD FOR ULTRASONIC MORPHOMETRY OF THE LIEUTAUD TRIGONE OF THE URINARY BLADDER AND THE INTRAMURAL URETER IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2767885 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to urology, pediatrics, ultrasonic diagnostics. The length of the intramural part of the ureter and the urethroureteral distance is determined, the interureteric distance is measured by ultrasonic imaging. The sensor is therein positioned in the supine position of the patient in the transverse plane, at an angle to the surface of the body in the caudal direction, as in Fig. 1b, and a first "point" of the Lieutaud triangle, the vertex whereof is the inner urethral orifice, is marked. Then, without repositioning the sensor, the scanning angle is changed in the cranial direction, as in Fig. 2b, providing a possibility of detecting the distal ureters - normally the ureters fall in the same plane corresponding to the ureteral orifices - thereby defining the two remaining "points" of the trigone. The interureteric distance is measured at this level by determining the segment between the ureteral orifices. The sensor is then rotated by 70 to 80° or 5 to 15° in premature infants, newborns, and children in the first months of life, until aligning with the longitudinal axis of the ureter, the inner orifice of the urethra and the longitudinal section of the intramural ureter are diagnosed. In order to determine the length of the intramural ureter, the sensor measures the distance between the inner ureteral orifice and the boundary of the prevesical ureter with the bladder wall. All measurements are taken in absolute values.

EFFECT: method provides a possibility of determining the anatomical changes in the intramural ureter and the morphometric parameters of the intravesical Lieutaud trigone, making it possible to determine the presence or absence of pathologies of the ureterovesical anastomosis of the ureter at the stages of outpatient treatment; the conducted study significantly increases the quality of comprehensive urological examination of children.
