FIELD: separator manufacturing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the structure and method for manufacturing a separator of a non-flowing battery with a bromine cathode and a metal anode of a filter-press design. The effect is achieved by the proposed separator group of a metal-bromine non-flow battery, which contains a metal anode, a porous carbon cathode and a separator. In this case, the separator consists of at least one first layer of the separator group, which is a low-porous cation-exchange membrane with a porosity of 10-15%, and at least one second layer of the separator group, which is a porous non-conductive material that is electrolyte reservoir. The separator group is located with a low-porosity membrane towards the porous carbon cathode, and the thickness of the second layer of the separator group is chosen so that the total pore volume of the cathode and the highly porous layer in the compressed state provides the nominal charging capacity of the cathode with a decrease in the concentration of the working electrolyte by no more than 80%.
EFFECT: decrease in the internal resistance of the separator group with a significant deceleration of the bromine transfer rate at the moment of charge.
