FIELD: pipeline technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cathodic protection of underground metal structures from corrosion and can be used for electrochemical protection of pipelines laid in the ground. The method involves connecting an underground facility with a cathodic protection station, placing anode earthing devices connected to the cathodic protection station near the protected object, while at one site of the underground facility, based on the required values of protective electrical characteristics and soil properties at this site, the required number of anode earthing devices and the necessary materials of anode earthing devices are determined, then an anode field is formed on the site, placing at least two different anode earthing devices on it, in which the material of one anode earthing device differs from the material of the other anode earthing device.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of cathodic protection of an underground facility.
