FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of metal structures against electrochemical corrosion and lightning discharges. Method involves use of cathodic protection against corrosion, containing DC source and graphitized carbon anodic grounding, lightning protection system containing lightning rod and current collector, by means of contact device and steel comparison electrode, wherein the graphitized carbon anodic grounding of cathodic protection system is used as grounding circuit of lightning protection, operation modes “without lighting storm" and "lighting storm" are set, cathode polarization of metal objects in continuous mode, and lightning discharge mode is connected to cathodic protection system during period of lightning discharges risk, wherein removal of lightning discharges from protected object by guidance system of lightning protection of positive electrochemical potential, value of which does not exceed 90 in relation to steel comparison electrode.

EFFECT: technical result is provision of safety of production facilities against lightning discharges, prevention of corrosion destruction elements lightning protection, protected constructions and underground pipelines.
