SUBSTANCE: invention can be used on industrial objects of combustion of hydrocarbon fuel for protection against lightning discharges and electrochemical corrosion of underground steel structures for hydrocarbon fuel. System, containing a constant current source and a carbon-graphite anode ground, with a lightning protection system, is used with a rod lightning collector, a current lead, a contact device and a reference steel electrode. Carbon anode ground of the cathodic protection system is used as a lightning protection earthing loop. Cathodic polarization of the protected steel underground structure, connected through a contact device and a copper-sulfate comparison electrode, are provided in a constant mode by applying a protective total potential in the range from -1.2 volts to -2.5 volts. Discharge of lightning discharges from the protected object and the forced collection of a lightning discharge into the lightning protection system onto the anode ground is carried out by directing a positive electrochemical potential, the value of which does not exceed 90 volts relative to the steel reference electrode.

EFFECT: preservation of industrial infrastructure of enterprises, where a significant amount of used hydrocarbon raw materials in the form of fuel, from damage to atmospheric electricity, and protection against electrochemical corrosion of underground structures for transportation and storage of hydrocarbon raw materials.
