SUBSTANCE: method of repairing the damaged cutter comprises steps where a damaged polycrystalline diamond cutter is used with a damaged support base having at least one void, a polycrystalline diamond plate connected to the damaged support base and made of a polycrystalline diamond structure forming a variety of interstitial spaces there between and a catalytic material disposed within one or more interstitial spaces. The damaged polycrystalline diamond cutter is installed then in a device to fix the repaired cutter, the device fixing the repaired cutter is filled with a reinforcing structure, the reinforcing structure is joined together with a damaged support base and form a processed cutter, the processed cutter is removed from the device to fix the repaired cutter, and the portion of the reinforcing structure is removed from the processed cutter and the repaired cutter is formed.
EFFECT: increase cutters service life and full employment of their components.
