FIELD: thermal power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: turbocharger system and the method for its operation belong to the field of thermal power engineering. The system includes a compressor 1, a regenerator 2, a combustion chamber 3, a turbine 4 connected in series by pipelines, while the turbine 4 is connected by a pipeline to the regenerator 2. Air is sent from the compressor 1 through the pipeline 1.1 to the regenerator 2 and further to the combustion chamber 3. From the combustion chamber 3, exhaust gases heated to operating temperature or a gas mixture consisting of heated air and exhaust gases are sent to the turbine 4, from which the rotational energy is transferred to the output shaft 7, while the spent working fluid from the turbine 4 is sent to the said regenerator 2 to preheat the air coming from the compressor. The method for operation of the described system is also proposed.

EFFECT: stabilization of work, increase of efficiency and power is achieved.
