FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry. Disclosed is a method of determining zinc in aqueous solution with 8-oxyquinoline by weight of sediment Zn(C9H6NO)2, in which, before analysis, an aqueous solution is subjected to electrolysis at voltage of 1.7 V to remove copper which interferes with the determination, and removal of copper is controlled twice: by current drop in circuit to minimum and by control experiment, in which reddish-brown sediment Cu2[Fe(CN)6] is not formed by contact with yellow blood salt.
EFFECT: high reliability of analysis owing to double control of removal of copper from the solution, and simple process of determining content of zinc with 8-oxyquinoline.
