FIELD: purification of waste water. SUBSTANCE: 8-oxyguinoline is added to waste water under stirring at 65-69 C in two stages: in the first stage Pb ions are deposited by 3-4 multiple excess of a reagent, and in the second stage copper ions are deposited by 14 multiple/molar excess of oxyquinoline. The purification operation is carried out at pH 9-10 which is adjusted with an aqueous ammonia solution. The process lasts 2.5-3 hr. The Cu and Pb ion residual concentration is less than 0,1 mg/dm3.
