DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREDICTION, SCREENING AND CONTROL OF ENCEPHALOPATHY/DELIRIUM Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B5/16 A61B5/374 G16H50/00

Abstract RU 2768581 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a system for screening delirium in a patient, a system for screening and threshold treatment of delirium, a system for recognizing electronic medical records for screening delirium in a patient. Patient’s delirium screening system comprises a portable screening device. Screening device comprises two sensors, a processor and a module. Sensors are configured to register one or more brain signals indicative of brain wave frequencies. Module is configured to compare frequencies of brain waves over time, performing spectral density or signal shape analysis for brain wave frequencies, establishing and/or changing a threshold ratio by means of electronic medical records, comparing said ratio with said threshold ratio, changing and updating the threshold ratio over time, outputting data. Spectral density or signal shape is analyzed to establish the ratio of densities of brain waves of high frequency with brain waves of low frequency. High-frequency brain waves are higher than 7.5 Hz and low-frequency brain waves are lower than 7.5 Hz. Derived data represent an indicator of presence, absence or probability of further development of delirium based on comparison of the specified ratio with the specified threshold ratio. System for screening and threshold treatment of delirium comprises a portable screening device and a module. Portable device comprises a housing and less than five sensors. Sensors are configured to register brain signals indicative of brain wave frequencies. Module is configured to collect brain wave frequencies over time from sensors, performing spectral density analysis for brain wave frequencies, establishing and/or changing the threshold ratio of patient data by means of electronic medical records, comparing said ratio with said threshold ratio of patient data, outputting data. Derived data represent an indicator of the presence, absence or probability of subsequent development of delirium or encephalopathy based on comparison of said ratio with said threshold ratio of patient data. System for recognizing electronic medical records for screening delirium in a patient comprises a portable screening device, two sensors, a processor, a database and program modules. Database contains patient data. Software modules comprise a signal processing module, a validation module, a threshold module and an analysis module. Threshold module is configured to set a delirium threshold. Analysis module is configured to perform spectral density analysis for brain wave frequencies. Delirium threshold is configured to be set by a machine learning module, working with patient data from electronic medical records.

EFFECT: providing higher accuracy and reliability of screening delirium and encephalopathy in a patient.
