SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in mobile communication systems. To this end, a mobile terminal device is considered in a mobile communication system with a base station, where each of the downlink and uplink channel beams has different directivity and/or coverage area. For the procedure of beam recovery after failure, allocation of allocated radio resources of the uplink is received. Processor, which during operation determines a downlink beam failure event initiates a beam recovery procedure after failure and comprises a transceiver, transmitting beam recovery signal after failure using allocated uplink radio resources from allocation, wherein the allocated uplink radio resources limit transmission to a subset of a plurality of uplink beams which can be exclusively allocated by a base station to a mobile terminal.
EFFECT: improvement of communication quality due to distribution of a set of beams to terminal devices by a base station.
