FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering, namely to radial petal gas-dynamic bearings, and can be used as supports for high-speed turbomachines. A radial petal gas-dynamic bearing contains a housing with longitudinal grooves located on its inner cylindrical surface, into which fastening shanks (7) of overlapping petals (3) are inserted, profiled along an open box-shaped profile, covering in a static state the journal of the mating shaft. The bearing is equipped with an annular groove made on the inner cylindrical surface of the housing at the point where the shaft journal is enveloped and the petals (3) are installed, and an elastic expansion ring for installation in the annular groove. The fastening shanks (7) are provided with a slot (8) for the passage of the mentioned elastic expanding ring, installed, in the assembled state of the bearing, in the annular groove of the cylindrical surface of the housing, made in the region of the center of symmetry of the petal (3) or at some offset from the mentioned center of symmetry.
EFFECT: expansion of the bearing operability zone, also by increasing the bending frequency of vibration of the shaft due to a decrease in the length of the shaft due to the elimination of the non-working area of the bearing used for fixing the petals in the axial direction.
