FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, radial petal-type gas-dynamic bearings which may be used in radial supports with gas lubrication.

SUBSTANCE: radial petal-type gas-dynamic bearing comprises housing with axial receptacles and petals with shanks fixed within housing receptacles. Receptacles are made through on portion of their length and are communicating with lubricant source. Receptacles are made in the form of two parallel cuts, and petal shanks embrace bearing housing part between cuts. Receptacles may be also made in the form of set of through openings and petal shanks are formed as whiskers placed within openings. Bearing is provided with petal-type damper inserts joined to petals. Such construction of bearing enables not only end feeding of lubricant but also radial feeding of lubricants through bearing housing to thereby reduce lower rotor rotational speed limit, indefinitely increase length of bearing, and increase load-carrying capacity and resistance of bearing.

EFFECT: increased service life and enhanced reliability in operation of support on the whole.
