FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment, primarily to the gas and oil industry. The method for measuring the mass flow rate of gas Qm consists in the fact that the volume flow rate Qv and the velocity head profile are measured simultaneously, and the mass flow rate Qm is calculated by the ratio , where F is the average value of the velocity head of gas, S is the flow meter passage section at the point of the pipeline where the velocity head profile is measured, C is the aerodynamic coefficient of the velocity head sensors, K is the correction coefficient of the Qv gas volume flow rate measurements based on the results of measuring the current velocity head profile of gas. A feature of the mass flow measurement device implementing the method is that a vortex flow meter is used as a volume flow meter, and the velocity pressure sensors are installed directly on the flow body that creates a vortex track.
EFFECT: reduction in the error of measuring the mass flow in real time over a wide range of changes in gas density and gas movement parameters due to the experimentally measured gas velocity head profile and adjusting the Qv value depending on the results of measuring the gas velocity head profile.
