FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, particularly to digital processing of radar signals. Disclosed is a method for radar classification of objects based on an inter-frequency correlation feature, which includes generating an estimate of the inter-frequency correlation coefficient based on two observation samples, taken for several surveys at two radar carrier frequencies and comparison of this estimate with a threshold in each range element with assignment, if this threshold is not exceeded in a specific distance element, the feature of an object with a large longitudinal size or, when this threshold is exceeded, of an object with a small longitudinal size, wherein, prior to generating an estimate of the modulus of the inter-frequency correlation coefficient at each carrier frequency, decorrelation of the observation samples is performed to reduce their inter-period correlation, wherein decorrelation of each of the two input samples of observations is carried out using whitening FIR filters, using autoregression coefficients calculated for each carrier frequency as their weight coefficients.
EFFECT: reduced time of classification for one survey without reduction of efficiency of classification.
