FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, in particular to digital processing of radar signals. The claimed method for classifying detected objects by inter-frequency correlation feature includes the formation of an estimate of the module of the inter-frequency correlation coefficient with normalization based on two samples of observations taken over several surveys at two radar carrier frequencies, and comparing this estimate with a threshold in the range element with the detected object with assignment, if this threshold is not exceeded, of the sign of an object with a large longitudinal size. The estimation of the module of the inter-frequency correlation coefficient is formed using, for normalization, samples of observations from an auxiliary independent range element taken for several reviews at two carrier frequencies of the radar and corresponding to the preceding neighboring range element in relation to the analyzed one.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of classification of detected objects by their longitudinal size.
