FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: digital processing of radar signals. In the claimed method, an estimate of the modulus of the inter-frequency correlation coefficient is formed based on two samples of observations taken for several surveys on two carrier frequencies of the radar, and this estimate is compared with a threshold in each range element. If the threshold in the analysed range element is not exceeded, the object is assigned the sign of an object with a large longitudinal size. In this case, a single-channel radar is used, through which radio pulses are emitted sequentially in time at different carrier frequencies, the first reflected radio signals are delayed with their time alignment with the second reflected radio signals, and an estimate of the modulus of the inter-frequency correlation coefficient is formed, comparing it with the threshold for classifying the object.
EFFECT: ability to use recognition by inter-frequency correlation feature in single-channel radar stations (radars).
