FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to assembly of a target for an isotope production system. Target assembly comprises a target body having a production chamber and a beam cavity adjacent to the production chamber. Production chamber is made with possibility of target material retention. Beam cavity is configured to receive a particle beam which falls on the production chamber. Target assembly also comprises a target foil arranged to separate the beam cavity from the production chamber. Target foil has a side which is exposed to the production chamber so that the target foil is in contact with the target material during isotope production. Target foil comprises a layer of material having a nickel-based superalloy.
EFFECT: reduced radioactivity of the target foil in the target assembly during prolonged use.
