FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing turbochargers used for supercharging diesel engines. The method for testing the turbocharger consists in mounting a set of measuring equipment of the apparatus for express diagnostics of a turbocharger on the engine, wherein an array of reference data required to form evaluation criteria indicators is entered in said set, disconnecting the air purification filter, starting and warming up the engine, measuring the pressure 1 of the charging air after the compressor part of the turbocharger (Pk1), the pressure 4 of the gases in the crankcase of the engine (Pkg1), the temperature 2 of the charging air after the compressor part of the turbocharger (Tk1), the temperature 3 of the spent gases at the inlet of the turbine part of the turbocharger (Tt1), then moving the fuel supply control body to the position of maximum supply at a predetermined rate, the beginning of movement of the fuel supply body is the beginning of timing of the measurements (t1). At the moment when the pressure of the charging air reaches the nominal value for the diagnosed turbocharger (Pk2), the pressure of the gases in the crankcase of the engine (Pkg2), the temperature of the charging air after the compressor part of the turbocharger (Tk2), the temperature of spent gases at the inlet of the turbine part of the turbocharger (Tt2) are re-recorded. The fuel supply control body is then returned to the position of the minimum idle speed, wherein the moment when the air pressure after the compressor part of the turbocharger reaches the nominal value is considered the end of timing of the measurements (t2), a final calculation of the evaluation criteria is conducted. The technical condition of the turbocharger of the engine is determined from the ratio of the measured parameters to the predetermined evaluation criteria.
EFFECT: application of the above method for express diagnostics of the turbocharger of an engine provides a possibility of making a conclusion on the technical condition of the turbocharger under diagnostics without performing operations to dismantle the turbocharger; provides for express diagnostics of either one or multiple turbochargers installed simultaneously on the engine; provides a possibility of reducing the number of emergency repairs to 10% and predicting the probable time of failure of the turbocharger of a diesel engine.
